The complete cycle of steel structures fabrication includes cutting and preparation of raw steel products, nesting of the raw steel products, assembly, welding and application of the anticorrosion coating.
The basic methods of the cutting and preparation shop include: shot-blasting of the rolled steel products, flattening of steel products using special straightening machines and presses both for the flat and for the long products; thermal (gas and plasma) cutting of the flat products using dedicated nesting software and CNC machines; mechanical cutting of flat products using guillotine shears; mechanical cutting of rolled section (i.e. of long products) using the shearing presses, the band-saw and the cut-off abrasive wheel of the oscillating circular saw; making of the holes made for bolting - by punching technique on combined purpose machines or using punching presses; making of holes for bolting - using drilling on high-tech CNC equipment, on radial drilling machines and mag base drilling machines; preparation of edges for welding (chamfering) using gas cutting, edge chamfering and milling machines.
The principal methods of steel structures assembly include: assembly by means of assembly benches (assembly plates, special assembly racks), jigs, special assembly machine for welded H-beam assembly (plate girders), and a special assembly and welding line for production of beams with corrugated web.
The principal welding types used in fabrication include: semi-automated MAG (CO2), automated SAW, manual consumable electrode arc welding.
The principal surface preparation methods for paint coating application include: abrasive shot, grit and sand blasting.
The principal methods of paint coat application include: airless spraying, marking by means of portable ink-spray printer (marker).
The QM system of OCIP is certified according to ISO 9001:2008.
The products quality control is performed at all stages of manufacturing: starting with development of job specifications and design documentation (drawings) to fabrication of the products and their delivery to the Customers' sites.
In procuring rolled steel and accessory materials qualification and selection of reliable vendors and suppliers are performed at least once a year. For the incoming inspection of the rolled steel and accessory materials, standard technological processes have been developed and are in place.
The test lab of the company conducts testing of the properties of the incoming rolled steel, of the painting materials, of the thermal insulation materials as well as the mechanical properties of weld joints. The lab is equipped with modern test equipment for rolled steel products.
The non-destructive test lab on the premises of OCIP is attested by the independent attestation authority of non-destructive test labs STC Quality LNDT (LNK “NUTs Kachestvo") (for Ultrasonic testing. NDT ultrasonic inspection). The quality of welds is verified using visual and measurement inspection techniques with the help of calibrated measuring equipment and gauges (Usherov-Marshak welder's gauge, etc.), using ultrasonic flaw detectors models UD 2-70, UD 4-76 and A1212 MASTER.
By way of continuous quality improvement, the product fabrication technology is monitored on the daily basis, adherence to technological discipline is checked following a dedicated schedule, along with the inspection of the equipment and instruments for technological precision.
